Spanish researchers said moderate consumption of ale and lager can reduce the risk of diabetes and high blood pressure and can even help people lose weight. They added that the infamous British beer belly can be blamed on an Anglo-Saxon culture characterised by eating fatty takeaways and drinking too much....Color me skeptical that a high-calorie beverage helps you lose weight (a couple pints and you've downed 500+ calories), but hey, the PR's nice.
Dr Estruch said Spanish beer drinkers did not resemble their British counterparts who 'drink large quantities, almost without moving from one spot, while eating fried chips and sausages.'

I could probably lose 10 pounds if I stopped drinking beer, but that life would not be worth living! Color me skeptical. Cheers!
Well, you see in Spain, they only drink while "clubbing" and those guys can sure dance their assess off. Beer is just a pairing for exercise. ;)
